Returning to the Land Program



The Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, in partnership with the Rocky Boy Health Center, is recruiting participants for ᐁ ᐊᐤᓂᐠ ᐅᑕ ᐊᐢᑭᐠ (Returning to the Land) a land-based cultural program for young parents and caregivers.
This initiative supports youth and families in reconnecting with traditional knowledge through storytelling and hands-on cultural activities led by Traditional Knowledge Holders. The program is designed to strengthen cultural identity, promote wellbeing, and support prevention of substance misuse for future generations.
Who can participate:
• Young parents/caregivers ages 14–19
• Caring for a child ages 1–5
• Live on or near Rocky Boy (within 50 miles)
Chippewa-Cree enrolled members will receive priority, but all eligible individuals are encouraged to apply.
Program details:
• 10 sessions (1 hour each)
• Tuesday–Thursday, 3:00–7:00 PM
• July 7–14 OR July 14–21
• Location: Mīyō Pimātisiwinkamik Youth Center or Lower Baldy Base Camp
