Did you know when people feel connected, supported, and needed that the rates of heart disease, depression, and anxiety go down? That is why having that connection to one another, healthy relationships and a strong sense of belonging are just as important as food, movement, and sleep.
What does community look like to you? Community in everyday life is checking up on each other, helping our elders, protecting and guiding our children, supporting those who are struggling, offering encouragement, and practicing forgiveness. When we practice those acts it not only helps those around us but it helps us as individuals grow. It brings us together as a community because no one should walk their path alone.
When we connect through community it does more than improve well-being. It helps to build bridges between people and their various opinions and perspectives. When we come together as a community with a shared purpose, we restore trust that has been damaged and bring empathy in ways that are desperately needed.
What are ways that you can connect more with your relatives, friends, and even those that you may struggle with? It’s time to come together as a community and start healing as a community.
